Pet organization providing free vaccinations for Las Vegas dogs, cats

Hearts Alive Village, a Las Vegas-based nonprofit supporting pets, says it will provide free vaccines for cats and dogs in the valley this month.

The organization says the vaccinations will begin on March 10 and will take place every Sunday this month. Shots will be for parvovirus and distemper in dogs and panleukopenia in cats.

Vaccines will be distributed through the Petco Love initiative. There will also be free microchipping from the city of Las Vegas and free rabies and Bordetella vaccines from the Howard Ash Animal Care Fund.

An estimated 30% of pet owners do not take their pets to a veterinarian annually for preventive care, according to Hearts Alive Village.

“We urge community members to take advantage of this free resource to ensure the health and wellness of our community’s pets,” Christy Stevens, executive director of Hearts Alive Village, said in a statement.

Appointments are required. Call the Hearts Alive Village Animal Clinic at (702) 780-0002 or email [email protected] to make an appointment.
