New 24/7 animal ER opens in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCBD) — A new emergency animal hospital held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday in Mount Pleasant.

The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) opened their pet ER at 2183 N. Highway 17. The hospital will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even on holidays, to help pets with medical emergencies.

VEG says they can provide the highest level of emergency care, including surgeries, ultrasounds, x-rays, and more.

“When a pet parent walks into VEG Mount Pleasant, they will immediately feel they have finally found a place that will provide their family and pet the best emergency veterinary experience that exists,” said Dr. David Bessler, VEG founder and CEO. “Upon entering VEG Mount Pleasant, pet parents will feel a sigh of relief and comfort, as they are greeted with a friendly smile, empathetic attitude, and luxurious comforts for them and their pets.”

Licensed veterinarians are on staff to attend to pet needs, and triage begins once patient walks in the door. The group explained in a press release that pet owners are allowed to stay by their animals’ side through all stages of treatment.
